US Secretary of State Rubio calls Vietnam partnership typical model in international relations

Rubio assessed that the U.S. - Vietnam relations have a solid foundation, based on many common interests. As the two countries are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations, Rubio hoped that the U.S. and Vietnam will continue to build an increasingly effective Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, while highly evaluating the concerns and major orientations proposed by Son for the bilateral relations in the coming time.

• Rubio đánh giá rằng quan hệ Hoa Kỳ - Việt Nam có nền tảng vững chắc, dựa trên nhiều lợi ích chung. Khi hai nước đang kỷ niệm 30 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao, Rubio hy vọng rằng Hoa Kỳ và Việt Nam sẽ tiếp tục xây dựng Quan hệ Đối tác Chiến lược Toàn diện ngày càng hiệu quả, đồng thời đánh giá cao những quan tâm và định hướng lớn mà ông Sơn đề xuất cho quan hệ song phương trong thời gian tới.

Rubio affirmed that the U.S. - Vietnam relationship is a typical model in international relations and shares many common interests, a foundational factor for the ties to continue to develop in the coming time.

• Rubio khẳng định rằng quan hệ Hoa Kỳ - Việt Nam là một mô hình điển hình trong quan hệ quốc tế và chia sẻ nhiều lợi ích chung, một yếu tố nền tảng để mối quan hệ tiếp tục phát triển trong thời gian tới.

Congratulating Rubio on his appointment as the Secretary of State, Son affirmed that the U.S. is a leading comprehensive strategic partner of Vietnam. He highly appreciated the U.S.'s support for a strong, independent, self-reliant and prosperous Vietnam and expressed his wish that the two sides will continue to coordinate closely to further promote cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam – U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, thus meeting the practical interests of the people of the two countries as well as contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

• Chúc mừng Rubio nhân dịp ông được bổ nhiệm làm Ngoại trưởng, ông Sơn khẳng định Hoa Kỳ là đối tác chiến lược toàn diện hàng đầu của Việt Nam. Ông đánh giá cao sự hỗ trợ của Hoa Kỳ đối với một Việt Nam mạnh mẽ, độc lập, tự cường và thịnh vượng, và bày tỏ mong muốn hai bên sẽ tiếp tục phối hợp chặt chẽ để thúc đẩy hợp tác trong khuôn khổ Quan hệ Đối tác Chiến lược Toàn diện Việt Nam - Hoa Kỳ, từ đó đáp ứng lợi ích thực tiễn của nhân dân hai nước cũng như góp phần vào hòa bình, ổn định, hợp tác và phát triển trong khu vực và trên thế giới.

Son asked Rubio to once again convey the congratulations of leaders of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam to President Donald J. Trump and Vice President James David Vance.

• Ông Sơn đề nghị Rubio một lần nữa chuyển lời chúc mừng của lãnh đạo Đảng, Nhà nước và Chính phủ Việt Nam tới Tổng thống Donald J. Trump và Phó Tổng thống James David Vance.

The two officials agreed to coordinate to promote the exchange of high-level delegations, especially in the year celebrating the 30th anniversary of normalization of relations, and discussed the promotion of efforts to overcome the consequences of war, maintain the development momentum of economic - trade - investment cooperation, and promote science - technology and defense - security cooperation for the practical benefits of the two countries' people.

• Hai quan chức đã nhất trí phối hợp thúc đẩy trao đổi các đoàn cấp cao, đặc biệt trong năm kỷ niệm 30 năm thiết lập quan hệ, và thảo luận việc thúc đẩy các nỗ lực khắc phục hậu quả chiến tranh, duy trì đà phát triển hợp tác kinh tế - thương mại - đầu tư, và thúc đẩy hợp tác khoa học - công nghệ và quốc phòng - an ninh vì lợi ích thiết thực của nhân dân hai nước.

The two sides also discussed the importance of promoting the ASEAN - U.S. Strategic Partnership, the Mekong - U.S. Partnership, the central role of ASEAN and the situation in the East Sea. They agreed to increase dialogue, actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

• Hai bên cũng thảo luận tầm quan trọng của việc thúc đẩy Quan hệ Đối tác Chiến lược ASEAN - Hoa Kỳ, Quan hệ Đối tác Mekong - Hoa Kỳ, vai trò trung tâm của ASEAN và tình hình ở Biển Đông. Họ nhất trí tăng cường đối thoại, tích cực đóng góp vào hòa bình, ổn định, hợp tác và phát triển trong khu vực.

On this occasion, Son reiterated his invitation to Rubio to visit Vietnam. The U.S. Secretary of State accepted the invitation with pleasure and expressed his wish to visit Vietnam soon.

• Nhân dịp này, ông Sơn nhắc lại lời mời ông Rubio thăm Việt Nam. Ngoại trưởng Hoa Kỳ đã vui vẻ nhận lời mời và bày tỏ mong muốn sớm thăm Việt Nam.

On the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year 2025, Rubio, on behalf of U.S. leaders, extended greetings to the leaders and people of Vietnam.
