Security measures tightened at Phuket International Airport after bomb threat

The Thailand airport has increased security measures from June 26 and advised passengers to arrive well ahead of flights.

The recommendation was issued after bomb experts successfully destroyed an explosive device found in a motorcycle on June 25, Bangkok Post reported.

• Khuyến cáo này được đưa ra sau khi các chuyên gia bom thành công trong việc phá hủy một thiết bị nổ được tìm thấy trong một chiếc xe máy vào ngày 25 tháng 6, theo báo cáo của Bangkok Post.

They defused two more bombs at Promthep Cape and Patong beach.

Last week, Thai police arrested two suspects believed to be responsible for placing explosive devices at multiple tourist destinations across the resort island of Phuket, including its international airport, The Nation reported.

Police said the suspects, who are reportedly from the southern province of Pattani, provided information that led to the discovery and safe disposal of the bombs.

The Australian government has recommended its citizens exercise a "high degree of caution" in Thailand overall due to security and safety risks following the bomb discovery.
