Party chief calls for solidarity, joint efforts and consensus to turn aspirations into reality

In the address, the Party chief clearly stated that 80 years ago, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, our beloved President Ho Chi Minh formally read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the first People's Democratic State in Southeast Asia, ushering in an era of independence and freedom for the country. Since that historic moment, the Vietnamese people have embarked on a new journey: building a people's administration, defending the Fatherland, and leading the country to take firm steps on the path towards socialism, for the goal of "A rich people and a strong, democratic, equitable and civilized country". He stressed that: "In this sacred moment, we respectfully commemorate our ancestors, express our infinite gratitude to great President Ho Chi Minh; and pay tribute to our revolutionary predecessors, millions of compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed and devoted themselves for independence, freedom, and reunification of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people." We forever remember the contributions by Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, war veterans, wounded and sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and revolution contributors; and engrave in our hearts the dedications by workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, intellectuals, artists, the elderly, youth, women, children, compatriots of all religions and ethnic groups, our compatriots abroad, friends and the progressive people around the world who have stood shoulder to shoulder, assisted and supported the just revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people over the past 80 years." The Vietnamese Fatherland is the crystallization of a thousand-year tradition of national construction and protection; and of steadfastness, intelligence, compassion and aspiration to rise up. That spirit forged the great strength of the August Revolution; of the two long resistance wars against colonialists and imperialists; of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in peace; and of the cause of renewal, international integration and national development. That strength stems from the People, belongs to the People, and is for the People; the strength of the great national solidarity bloc under the glorious flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which was founded, led and trained by President Ho Chi Minh, he said. The Party leader affirmed that all victories of the Vietnamese revolution are closely associated with the right and clear-sighted leadership by the Party and the thought, moral example and style of Ho Chi Minh. Our Party, the vanguard of the working class and, at the same time, the vanguard of the working people and the Vietnamese people, has stayed steadfast in the goal of national independence linked with socialism; creatively applied and developed Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought in accordance with the country's situation in each period; and put the interests of the Fatherland and the People first and above all. Thanks to that, our people has overcome countless difficulties and challenges; our country has transformed from a colony into an independent and unified nation, steadily advancing towards modernity and deep integration; and its position and prestige are increasingly asserted in the international arena. He said the task of protecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; firmly maintaining social security, order and safety for fast and sustainable national development; and unceasingly improving the people's life quality and happiness is our command to act. By successfully achieving these three goals, we fulfil Uncle Ho's wish before he passed away: "My final wish is: for our entire Party and people to unite and strive to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam, and to make a worthy contribution to the cause of the world revolution." The General Secretary affirmed that throughout the 80-year journey full of hardships but pride-worthy, we have affirmed the truth: under the glorious flag of the Party, with the light of Ho Chi Minh guiding the way, and relying on the strength of the people and the great national solidarity bloc, there are no difficulties or challenges that our people cannot overcome; and there are no noble goals that our people cannot achieve. Therefore, there are no obstacles or reasons that can stop us from reaching peace, prosperity, and an everlasting nation of development. Looking toward the future, the Party sets the goal that by 2045, the 100th founding anniversary of the country, Vietnam will become a powerful, prosperous and happy nation. That is the aspiration of the entire nation, an oath of honor before History and the People. The Party chief called on the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and our compatriots at home and abroad, through concrete and practical actions, to stay united, join efforts, and be of one mind to turn aspirations into reality; to make more efforts and be more determined; and to highly promote Vietnamese intelligence, creativity, and mettle, thereby successfully implementing the goals and tasks set forth by the Party and State and expected by the People. He emphasized: "We are determined and persistent in safeguarding the independence, freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland by exerting the combined strength of the entire nation: the strength of politics, economy, culture, science, technology, military, and external relations, and the power of the people. We want to be a friend and reliable partner of all countries in the world. We respect international law and the United Nations Charter; resolve differences and disputes by peaceful measures. We absolutely do not compromise with any plots or actions that violate independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; and we are determined to firmly protect the interests of the nation and the people." "In this sacred moment, each of us seems to hear the echo of Uncle Ho's Declaration of Independence in 1945, and to see millions of Vietnamese hearts beating with pride and resounding with the oath "to die for the survival of the Fatherland". We understand even more deeply the value of "Independence", "Freedom", "Happiness"; we even further treasure and are more determined to nurture peace; we understand even more deeply the sacred meaning of the words "My People" and "My Fatherland," the Party leader shared. "Once again, I respectfully bow before the spirits of great President Ho Chi Minh, heroes, and martyrs who became part of the country and the sacred soul of the nation. I would like to send my warmest congratulations to compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam," he said. After that, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia conducted the parade and march.

• Trong bài phát biểu, Tổng Bí thư Đảng đã nêu rõ rằng 80 năm trước, tại Quảng trường Ba Đình lịch sử, Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh kính yêu của chúng ta đã chính thức đọc Tuyên ngôn Độc lập, khai sinh ra nước Việt Nam Dân chủ Cộng hòa, nay là Cộng hòa Xã hội Chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, nhà nước Dân chủ Nhân dân đầu tiên ở Đông Nam Á, mở ra một kỷ nguyên độc lập và tự do cho đất nước. Kể từ thời khắc lịch sử đó, nhân dân Việt Nam đã bước vào một hành trình mới: xây dựng chính quyền của nhân dân, bảo vệ Tổ quốc, và dẫn dắt đất nước tiến những bước vững chắc trên con đường hướng tới chủ nghĩa xã hội, với mục tiêu "Dân giàu, nước mạnh, dân chủ, công bằng, văn minh". Đảng ta, đội tiên phong của giai cấp công nhân và đồng thời là đội tiên phong của nhân dân lao động và nhân dân Việt Nam, đã kiên định mục tiêu độc lập dân tộc gắn liền với chủ nghĩa xã hội; sáng tạo vận dụng và phát triển chủ nghĩa Marx-Lenin và tư tưởng Hồ Chí Minh phù hợp với hoàn cảnh đất nước trong từng thời kỳ; và đặt lợi ích của Tổ quốc và Nhân dân lên trên hết và trước hết. Nhờ đó, nhân dân ta đã vượt qua vô vàn khó khăn và thử thách; đất nước ta đã chuyển từ một thuộc địa thành một quốc gia độc lập và thống nhất, tiến vững chắc trên con đường hiện đại và hội nhập sâu rộng; và vị thế, uy tín của nước ta ngày càng được khẳng định trên trường quốc tế. Ông nói nhiệm vụ bảo vệ độc lập, chủ quyền và toàn vẹn lãnh thổ của Tổ quốc; kiên trì giữ vững an ninh, trật tự và an toàn xã hội để phát triển quốc gia nhanh và bền vững; và không ngừng nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống và hạnh phúc của nhân dân là mệnh lệnh hành động của chúng ta. Bằng việc đạt được thành công ba mục tiêu này, chúng ta hoàn thành mong muốn của Bác Hồ trước khi Người qua đời: "Điều mong muốn cuối cùng của tôi là: toàn Đảng và toàn dân ta đoàn kết phấn đấu xây dựng một nước Việt Nam hòa bình, thống nhất, độc lập, dân chủ và giàu mạnh, góp phần xứng đáng vào sự nghiệp cách mạng thế giới." Tổng Bí thư khẳng định rằng trong suốt hành trình 80 năm đầy gian khổ nhưng cũng đầy tự hào, chúng ta đã khẳng định một chân lý: dưới ngọn cờ vinh quang của Đảng, với ánh sáng của Hồ Chí Minh soi đường, và dựa trên sức mạnh của nhân dân và khối đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc, không có khó khăn hay thách thức nào mà nhân dân ta không thể vượt qua; và không có mục tiêu cao quý nào mà nhân dân ta không thể đạt được. Do đó, không có trở ngại hay lý do nào có thể ngăn cản chúng ta đạt đến hòa bình, thịnh vượng và một quốc gia phát triển bền vững. Nhìn về tương lai, Đảng đặt ra mục tiêu rằng đến năm 2045, kỷ niệm 100 năm thành lập nước, Việt Nam sẽ trở thành một quốc gia mạnh mẽ, thịnh vượng và hạnh phúc. Đó là khát vọng của toàn dân tộc, một lời thề danh dự trước Lịch sử và Nhân dân. Tổng Bí thư kêu gọi toàn Đảng, toàn dân, toàn quân, và đồng bào ta ở trong và ngoài nước, bằng những hành động cụ thể và thiết thực, hãy đoàn kết, chung sức, đồng lòng để biến khát vọng thành hiện thực; nỗ lực hơn nữa và quyết tâm hơn nữa; và phát huy cao độ trí tuệ, sáng tạo và bản lĩnh của người Việt Nam, từ đó thực hiện thành công các mục tiêu và nhiệm vụ mà Đảng và Nhà nước đã đề ra và Nhân dân mong đợi. Ông nhấn mạnh: "Chúng ta quyết tâm và kiên định bảo vệ độc lập, tự do, chủ quyền, toàn vẹn lãnh thổ, và từng tấc đất thiêng liêng của Tổ quốc bằng cách phát huy sức mạnh tổng hợp của toàn dân tộc: sức mạnh của chính trị, kinh tế, văn hóa, khoa học, công nghệ, quân sự và quan hệ ngoại giao, và sức mạnh của nhân dân. Chúng ta muốn trở thành bạn và đối tác tin cậy của tất cả các quốc gia trên thế giới. Chúng ta tôn trọng luật pháp quốc tế và Hiến chương Liên Hợp Quốc; giải quyết các khác biệt và tranh chấp bằng biện pháp hòa bình. Chúng ta tuyệt đối không thỏa hiệp với bất kỳ âm mưu hay hành động nào vi phạm độc lập, chủ quyền, thống nhất và toàn vẹn lãnh thổ; và chúng ta quyết tâm bảo vệ vững chắc lợi ích của quốc gia và nhân dân." "Trong khoảnh khắc thiêng liêng này, mỗi chúng ta dường như nghe thấy tiếng vang của Tuyên ngôn Độc lập của Bác Hồ năm 1945, và thấy hàng triệu trái tim người Việt Nam đập rộn ràng với niềm tự hào và lời thề "quyết tử cho Tổ quốc quyết sinh". Chúng ta hiểu sâu sắc hơn giá trị của "Độc lập", "Tự do", "Hạnh phúc"; chúng ta càng trân trọng và quyết tâm nuôi dưỡng hòa bình; chúng ta hiểu sâu sắc hơn ý nghĩa thiêng liêng của những từ "Nhân dân" và "Tổ quốc của tôi," Tổng Bí thư chia sẻ. "Một lần nữa, tôi kính cẩn nghiêng mình trước linh hồn của Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh vĩ đại, các anh hùng liệt sĩ đã trở thành một phần của đất nước và hồn thiêng của dân tộc. Tôi xin gửi lời chúc mừng nồng nhiệt nhất đến đồng bào, đồng chí, chiến sĩ cả nước, kiều bào ở nước ngoài và bạn bè quốc tế nhân dịp kỷ niệm 80 năm Ngày Quốc khánh của nước Cộng hòa Xã hội Chủ nghĩa Việt Nam," ông nói. Sau đó, Phó Tổng Tham mưu trưởng Quân đội Nhân dân Việt Nam Thượng tướng Nguyễn Văn Nghĩa đã chỉ huy cuộc diễu hành.
