Cold front to drop temperatures to 15 degrees in northern Vietnam

The cold would reach the eastern parts of northern Vietnam first, before coming for the western parts and the northern plains a day later, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. Temperatures will drop to around 15-18 degrees at the lowest, and even below 10 degrees in mountainous regions.

U.S. weather forecast service AccuWeather said Hanoi’s temperatures on Saturday will drop by 7 degrees compared to Thursday, to 16-20 degrees. High-altitude locations like Lao Cai’s Sa Pa will record average daytime temperatures below 13 degrees from Saturday to Tuesday next week. The coldest period will fall on Sunday, with nighttime temperatures at 10-12 degrees.

The cold front will eventually arrive in central Vietnam, with temperatures at between 12-18 degrees. Certain areas, such as Da Nang, will record higher temperatures at 22-25 degrees on Sunday.

Four cold waves were recorded in November, with temperatures falling as low as 7 degrees in certain areas like Lang Son from Nov. 26 to 28. There will be more cold waves this month, meteorological agencies anticipated.
