Asia's '2nd most beautiful island' reaches new milestone with 1.2 million foreign tourists

Last year, the island received 960,000 foreign tourists and has aimed to receive 1 million this year.

So far this year, Phu Quoc has welcomed 6.5 million visitors including domestic travelers, already surpassing last year's total of 5.9 million, according to An Giang Province's Department of Tourism.

Andy Nguyen, director of Sunset Beach Resort & Spa Phu Quoc, said international guests have accounted for about 90% of visitors in recent months, with revenue up 30% year-on-year, Voice of Vietnam reported.
